Police investigating the stabbing of a man in Peterborough have released an e-fit of the suspect.
The 42-year-old victim was walking his dog along the Riverbank Pathway at the rear of Botolph Green, near to Farriers Court, in Orton Longueville, when the attack happened at about 5.35pm on Friday, May 22.
He was using his phone to text a friend when a man jumped out of the bushes and demanded he give him his phone and watch.
The victim refused and the offender stabbed him in the stomach before making off on a bicycle.
The victim thought he’d been punched but then saw blood seeping through his t-shirt.
He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital but did not require surgery and returned home some hours later.
DC Fran Scott said: “This was a serious assault that could have resulted in a more serious injury. I would urge people to look closely at this image and contact police immediately if you have information.”
The offender was described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5’10”, medium build with short light hair, wearing blue jeans with light markings or rips to the left upper leg and dark shoes.
Anyone with information should contact DC Scott on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
