Fire crews tackle arson spate in Peterborough

Fire crews have been tackling a spate of arsons in Peterborough.

Firefighters were called four times between midnight and 6.30am this morning (Friday) to deliberate fires across the city

The first call was shortly before 12.30am with crews attending a garage fire at The Dell, Woodston, where a car was also in flames.

Then at around 4am firefighters were called to Birchtree Avenue in Dogsthorpe to tackle a fire in the open, before being called at 5.40am to an open fire in Newark Avenue, Dogsthorpe.

This was followed at 6.30am with a call to Reeves Way in Eastfield where trees near a playground were on fire.
