An 11-year-old boy was assaulted and threatened as he walked home from school with his mother.
The victim was walking along Staniland Way in Werrington, Peterborough, a few paces behind his mother, when an unknown man wearing dark clothing and a balaclava jumped out from the hedgerow.
The offender punched the victim on the arm and told him not to tell anyone what had happened.
The incident happened on Friday December 5 at around 3.10pm.
Police are now appealing for information on the incident.
PC Chris Hallam said: “This has left the young boy very upset. He felt he couldn’t tell anyone as the offender threatened him.
“I’d like to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident or who has witnessed any similar ones.”
