Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in Peterborough.

The 69-year-old victim was watching television at his home in Anchor Court, Paston on Tuesday (November 3) at around 10pm when a man entered the property and attempted to steal his wife’s jewellery box.

When the victim challenged the offender, the man used the jewellery box to hit him in the face, leaving him with cuts and bruises.

The man left the building with a small amount of cash.

Detective Constable Sarah Phillips, investigating, said: “The victim in this incident was particularly vulnerable and resides in a vulnerable location. He suffered a nasty assault and has been left shaken. I would urge anyone who knows this individual to contact police.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Sarah Phillips on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
