Driver injured in paintball attack on busy road near Peterborough

A driver suffered injuries to his face after being shot by a paintball gun on a busy road near Peterborough.

A 31-year old man was driving a white Ford Ranger which was towing a caravan on the A16, travelling northbound past Crowland yesterday (Thursday).

The motorist believed he was being followed by a silver VW golf and pulled into the first layby on the A16, after the junction with Crowland.

A man fired a paintball gun at the victim, which struck him through his open window, causing a swelling injury to his face.

The victim continued on his journey, turning off the A16 and onto Hulls Drove when he realised he was again being followed by the same car.

Projectiles were then thrown at his windscreen, front grille and bonnet and the driver-side and passenger-side windows were smashed from this.

Lincolnshire police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting the reference 387 of 3 December.
