Cyclist critically injured in Bourges Boulevard hit-and-run showing signs of improvements

A cyclist left in a critical condition after a hit-and-run in Bourges Boulevard is said to be showing signs of improvement, according to police.

The cyclist in his mid-50s, from the Peterborough area, is in a serious condition in Addenbrooke’s Hospital after suffering head injuries.

The cyclist was heading towards the city centre along Bourges Boulevard when he was hit from behind by a black Vauxhall Corsa in the early hours of Friday, May 23.

A 21-year-old male from the Peterborough area was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision.

He has been released on police bail until July 29.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with information should call police on 101.
