Burglars steal heating equipment from city council building

Monday 3pm: Burglars stole thousands of pounds of heating equipment from a Peterborough City Council building.

The burglary happened at about 11.50am on Friday, 9 January, at Aqua House on East Station Road, Peterborough.

High-value heating equipment was stolen including a boiler, copper piping and electrical cables, worth about £5,000 in total.

The building is currently vacant.

Detective Constable Victoria Speirs: “In addition to the theft of these items a substantial amount of damage was caused to extract them from the building.

“I urge anyone with any information to come forward.”

Two men have been arrested in connection with the burglary and are currently on bail.
