Two boys from Peterborough were arrested after a car crash which police said left traffic at a “standstill.”

The 17-year-olds were arrested after a vehicle which failed to stop at Boongate for police made off from the scene then crashed into another vehicle in Eastfield Road last Friday.

Two people in the second vehicle suffered injuries but a police spokesman said they did not appear to be life-threatening.

However, an ambulance was called to the scene.

The teenagers were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug, taking a vehicle without consent and dangerous driving. They have both now been released under investigation.
