Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed in a Peterborough park yesterday evening (Sunday).

The victim, a 29-year-old man from Peterborough, was sat on a bench in Central Park, Park Crescent, at about 5pm when three men approached him.

Two of the men grabbed him under his arms, pinning them back, while the third snatched his Samsung Ace 2 mobile phone out of his hand.

The third man then grabbed the victim’s bicycle which was leaning against a waste bin, and rode off with the other two men running behind him.

The men are described as all having short, black hair, one wearing blue jogging bottoms and a blue top and another wearing dark trousers and a dark jacket.

Detective Constable Pete Wise said: “The bike which was stolen is a very distinctive black men’s Voodoo mountain bike with red markings.

“I would urge anyone who has seen it or been offered it for sale to contact police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
