Police have arrested a suspect after a stabbing in Werrington yesterday (Friday).

A youth, believed to be a teenage boy, suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened at about 5pm at the Werrington Centre in Peterborough.

A Cambridgeshire police spokemsman said: “There was an altercation involving a group of youths in the centre.

“One person suffered serious injuries from a stab wound.

“One person has been arrested in connection with the incident.”

A large police cordon was put in place in the shopping precinct last night, and there was shock in the area.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call Cambridgeshire police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
