A man has been arrested following a reported stabbing in Peterborough city centre.

A man in his 20s suffered serious injuries in the alleged attack in a car park off St Mark’s Street near Peterborough city centre at about 2am on Friday morning.

He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A 44-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on Friday (July 31) on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on September 15.

Enquiries are continuing.

A teenager appeared in court today charged with a second stabbing that took place on Friday.
