Armed police arrested a man after a handgun was reportedly seen in a town centre.

The BCH Armed Police Unit descended on Huntingdon town centre last night (Thursday).

A spokesperson for the unit a man had been seen with a handgun.

The unit later arrested a man and recovered a firearm nearby.

The man remains in custody.
