Fire crews tackled two house fires in Peterborough within 13 hours of each other.
Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, Whittlesey and the north roaming fire engine were called to Tirrington in Bretton at 1.49pm yesterday (Thursday, October 4).
The fire was located in the bedroom, with the property empty at the time.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, and a fire investigation will now take place.
All crews had left the scene by 4.20pm. The property was then re-inspected at 5.25pm by one crew, who had returned to their station by 6.49pm.
Today (Friday, October 5) at 2.20am, crews from Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to a fire in an outbuilding in Bamber Street, Central ward.
Crews arrived to find a fire in an outbuilding that was spreading to a neighbouring property.
Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire, before returning to their stations by 3.34am.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
