A playarea with broken equipment at the Wellhead in Bourne is too dangerous for children to use, say worried parents.

Now mums and childminders who are forced to visit parks outside the town are calling on the district council to fix the problems.

Paula Brett, of Beech Avenue, Bourne, said: “We are very concerned. The equipment has been broken or faulty for some time now. The area is no longer safe.”

Mike Smith, operations team leader at South Kesteven District Council, said: “The area where maintenance is required in the park has been cordoned off and we are continuing to advise park users not to use this equipment until further notice.

“We’re aware of the repairs needed to bring this area back into use and work will take place in the coming weeks to make the adjustments.”
