The manager of a coffee shop which has opened in the Werrington Centre hopes to bring back a sense of community spirit to the area. Stacey Hill, said the area needed a facility that would bring people together after it became rundown and many of the shops closed. She said: “All the shops that used to be in the centre closed and we feel now is the time to rejuvenate the area. What makes us different from other chain stores is that we want people to really feel as if they are walking into their own lounge for a coffee. It’s a nice and relaxed place to enjoy a coffee.” The shop was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Peterborough, David and Jackie Over.
Open seven days a week, the Lounge serves hot drinks, pastries, homemade cupcakes, paninis, soup and baked pototes.
