Peterborough Rugby Club converted a big charity night into much needed funds for a good cause in the city.

Representatives from the club visited the headquarters of their adopted local charity Little Miracles to present a cheque for just over £1,000 collected on their recent Santa Night. Over 25 club members raised the money in a fun filled bucket collection night, which took in a number of bars across the city centre, including club sponsors The Solstice.Michelle King from Little Miracles said: “This is a tremendous effort from Peterborough Rugby Club. The money will be used sending 80 of our children to The Shrek Experience in London, along with 23 children on a trip to The Sealife Centre also in London. Without this kind donation these trips could not go ahead.”

Club Chairman Archie Bennett added “ It is a pleasure for us to be able to help the children go on trips like this and it reiterats our ongoing work with the community in Peterborough. I would like to personally like to thank our members who organized and took part in this night, and also the pubs and clubs who welcomed us on the night”
