A charity is appealing for volunteers to come forward in Peterborough.
National charity Action on Hearing Loss (formerly RNID) needs help to run information stands in places like hospitals and libraries.
Linda Bridewell, Regional Information Coordinator explained: “Put simply, our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation, helping us in all areas of our work to remove barriers that people with hearing loss face every day. Our volunteers do not only have the chance to make a positive impact on the lives of local people, but also make new friends and enjoy fun and rewarding experiences at the same time. We always aim to match the interests and skills of the volunteers to settings where they feel comfortable, we provide all the training and support they need and we are with them every step of the way so that they feel confident to answer questions about hearing loss in an informed and relaxed setting. Whether it’s just an hour a week or longer, the time frame does not matter when you are contributing to such a great cause.”
