The Phillips Trust made the donation this week on a visit to the cathedral.

The Northamptonshire based charity has been a longstanding supporter of the cathedral, in recognition of the role that the cathedral plays in the county. Northamptonshire makes up the largest part of the Diocese of Peterborough, of which the cathedral is the mother church. Canon Jonathan Baker, Acting Dean of Peterborough, said: “The generosity of The Phillips Trust has helped the cathedral very significantly by providing some of the match money required by the Heritage Lottery Fund to enable the Visitor and Learning Centre to go ahead.”
