A charity dinner hosted by Labour city councillor Ansar Ali raised hundreds of pounds for the Mayor of Peterborough’s charities and the British Friends of Islamgarh Welfare Trust.
The packed-out meal was held at the Taj Mahal in Lincoln Road and raised £570.
Cllr Ali said: “I was overwhelmed with the support from my fellow councillors from across the chamber and my friends from our diverse communities for their participation at a fantastic social evening at which we enjoyed delicious food, entertainment and conversation, whilst raising money for charities.
“I would like to thank all those who supported this great event and apologise to those friends who wished to attend but could not be accommodated.”
The mayor’s charities are: The Salvation Army Good Neighbours Scheme, Motor Neurone Disease and The Royal Air Force Association.
