Eight jobs will be created when stationery retailer Smiggle opens in Peterborough's Queensgate shopping centre on Friday.

The new Peterborough outlet will bring the number of UK stores operated by the Australia-based retailer to more than 120.

Smiggle is set to open in Peterborough on Friday, December 8.

Managing director of Smiggle, John Cheston, said: “With over 120 stores now open in the UK and Ireland, Smiggle has proved to be a real success with consumers.

"We are thrilled to be introducing our products to local areas and giving fans greater opportunity to purchase our unique products.

"There really is nothing like Smiggle anywhere else on the high street – and it will be great to see the public’s reaction in Peterborough on December 8.

He added: “It’s important for us to inject fun into everything we do – from product design to store design, we will always focus on delivering to our fans the most original and playful stationery possible. We know how important it is to have the right tools for festive fun.”

Smiggle, which arrived in the UK nearly four years ago, is renown for its fun and colourful stationery that ranges from scented pencils to sparkly notebooks.
