The £4 million Hereward Tower development reaches a significant milestone as the construction of the additional top floor gets underway this week.

The development on Broadway in Peterborough will transform the former Inland Revenue offices into 33 stylish residential apartments at the heart of the city centre.

The new flats will boast panoramic views for miles across the city.

The tower will comprise 24 two-bedroom and six one-bedroom apartments, in addition to three luxury penthouses on the newly constructed top floor.

This week marks a significant point in the progress of the development as work begins to construct the top floor.

The exterior cladding of the building, as well as the construction of the new windows and the interior works to the tower, are now well underway with local constructors Lindum.

Julian Wells, director of the developers, FW Properties, said: “The new penthouse apartments within Hereward Tower will provide stunning views across the city.

“We are delighted with the progress of the project and are excited to see the penthouse apartments now starting to take shape.

“With over 1,100 square feet of space in each unit, these spacious penthouse apartments will provide the perfect base for residents in what is one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.”

The vacant office building of 25,000 sq. ft. was originally built in 1966 and has been empty since the Inland Revenue vacated the building in 2008.
