Food lovers will soon be able to get their teeth into gourmet burgers as another big name restaurant chain gets ready to come to Peterborough.
Handmade Burger Co were this week granted planning permission for the conversion of the Old Still pub , at the heart of the Queensgate Centre, which shut in 2009.
An opening date has not yet been confirmed but is expected to be in March or April.
However, the chain is already looking to recruit around 30 members of staff with further details to be announced at a later date.
Chris Sargeant, one of the chain’s owners, said: “I can’t wait to open our 23rd restaurant at the Old Still in Peterborough. It’s an amazing pub and we are so proud to have secured such an historic location.
“Our plans for the Old Still include maintaining the charm, look and feel of this very much loved pub.
“We are looking at bringing the Old Still back to life by creating something special for the people of Peterborough to be proud of.”
Handmade Burger Colaunched in 2006 and their chefs can make more than 40 varieties of burgers. A vegetarian option and a children’s menu are also offered.
Chris added: “I can’t wait to find out what the fabulous people of Peterborough think of our new restaurant.
“Our teams pride themselves on delivering quality food, great service and hospitality.
“I hope that diners will love the fresh food we make and the great variety we offer.”
