Fifty jobs have been created at a new leisure retail store that has just been officially opened in Peterborough.

Outdoor goods retailer Go Outdoors has chosen Peterborough as the location for the company’s 50th store.

The store in Saville Road was officially declared open by the Mayor of Peterborough Councillor David Over watched by some of the store’s latest recruits.

Afterwards, Go Outdoors chief executive Chris Matthews said: “We’re very pleased to announce Peterborough as the location for our 50th store.

“As a UK retailer it’s great to have reached this landmark and we’re excited to be opening in Peterborough, and bringing 50 jobs to the area.

He added: “The Peterborough area offers some great places to experience the outdoors and it’s the perfect location for our business.”
