A growing Peterborough company is hoping its new recruitment academy is right on target.
Abax UK called up football star Martin Samuelsen (18), currently on loan at Peterborough United from West Ham United, to help launch the venture.
The academy will provide opportunities for people, mainly school and college leavers, to take part in a four week training course for the vehicle technology firm based in Warmington
All participants on the programme will be paid and receive a diploma for a completed course.
The best students will be offered a full time sales role with Abax.
Three programmes are scheduled for 2016 and a further four in 2017.
Chris Miller, chief executive of Abax UK, the stadium sponsor for Peterborough United, said: “The recent buyout of the UK franchise by Abax started an extensive growth strategy for the company.
“Our headquarters will be in Peterborough and by the end of 2016 we aim to have nearly 100 employees operating out of this city and from new offices in London, Manchester and Birmingham.
“To do this we will need excellent employees and the Abax Academy is the ideal entry point.
“It is aimed at younger people but everyone is welcome to apply.”
Norwegian forward Martin said: “The academy will give many young people the opportunity to start a career.
“I have earned many opportunities in my football career and understand the importance of getting support to help me fulfil my ambitions.”
