Within the new company, Mick George will build lifestyle houses under its new Mick George Homes brand.

It plans to sell more than 100 units in the first 12 months, with the first completions expected early March 2018. Target areas include Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

It is the latest expansion for Mick George, which has recently widened its skip hire and waste disposal business to include insurance, leasing and fleet management and domestic refuse collections.

Michael George, contracts director at Mick George, said: “We possess a wealth of experience in many aspects associated with property building, from earthworks, civil engineering, and trade disciplines to mention just a few. For that reason, a collaboration seemed the logical route for both parties.”

Toby Markham, chief executive of Campbell Buchanan, said: “The market leading expertise that Mick George Ltd has in demolition, remediation and ground works will provide a greater surety of cost which will allow us to focus more aggressively on brown field sites.

“They are sites that provide challenges and also provide opportunities for high quality schemes within mature and well located positions.”
