Plus size fashion retailer Taking Shape has chosen Peterborough’s store manager Erika Gee to be the international face of the brand.
Erika who manages the Taking Shape Peterborough store in Long Causeway, said she was delighted to have been chosen for such a prestigious role.
The poster, advertising and social media campaign featuring Peterborough’s Erika will be used internationally including in Taking Shape’s home country of Australia.
She said: “I am so honoured to be chosen as the international face of Taking Shape – it’s great to think that posters with my face on will be up all over Australia, New Zealand and the UK of course.
“I’m so passionate about helping my curvy Peterborough ladies with their outfit choices in store so it’s fantastic to see my advice being used across the world.
She added: “Plus size ladies love to look gorgeous and feel confident in what they wear whatever country they live in, so if I can help them do that then I have done my job.”
Taking Shape was created 30 years ago and has more than 130 stores across Australia and New Zealand and nearly 30 stores across the UK.
The company opened a branch in Peterborough in October last year.
The retailer says it offers women’s clothing that is fashionable, has personality and flatters.
Taking Shape is a one stop shop for work, weekend, evening wear plus accessories and shoes in sizes 14 to 26.
The firm’s UK market was valued at £5.88 billion in 2012 bn in 2012 and is forecast to be worth £6.26 billion rising by 21 per cent to reach £7.57 billion by 2017.
