A Peterborough-based firm of chartered accountants are counting on the support of judges after being shortlisted for the British Accountancy Awards 2012.
AA Chartered Accountants, in Blenheim Court, Peppercorn Close, Peterborough were noted for their innovative and forward-thinking approach as one of nine finalists for Practice Excellence in the Independent Firm of the Year (South East & East England) category of the awards.
The winners will be announced at an awards dinner in London on 21 November.
Director Shaz Nawaz said: “To be shortlisted is wonderful news for the firm and all the AA Team are absolutely delighted.
“This is the first time we have entered for this award and we had to satisfy the judges on six different criteria of practice excellence.
“To be in the running for the award is an achievement in itself and I will be taking the senior team members with me to London on 21 November for the results.”
It comes after the accountancy firm received a bronze accreditation from the Investors In People at their first attempt in recognition of the support and training that is given to its members of staff.
Shaz Nawaz added: “I am absolutely delighted that the first assessment has produced such positive results.
“I felt we were ready to apply for accreditation but to achieve bronze at the first attempt is a real bonus.
“We have a very strong team culture, with every team member’s opinion valued and I cannot overstate the contribution that my team members make.”
