The donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation will be spent on a range of activities for patients at the Trust’s Cavell Centre in Bretton.

The Cavell Centre has a number of psychiatric and older people’s wards along with a unit for those with learning disabilities and the centre’s indoor gymnasium is used by hundreds of patients every year.

Nora O’Shea, CPFT’s physical activities facilitator, said: “There are clear links between improving mental health by improving physical health, so the gym is very well used.

“We are always looking to purchase new equipment so this kind donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is very welcome. “We have already bought a special curling set which can be used in the gym.”
