Body of man found in car in ditch near Peterborough

Officers were called to Main Road in Deeping St Nicholas at 10.52am on Wednesday, Lincolnshire Police said.

“The ditch contained water and there were no other vehicles directly involved,” a force spokesman said.

“A man in his 70s was in the vehicle and sadly did not survive.

“This is not being treated as suspicious and this will be now be referred to the coroner.”

Police confirmed that the discovery is “completely unrelated” to ongoing searches for missing Peterborough teenager Bernadette Walker.
