The two year wait to have her hair shaved off was worth it for Jade Ball who shed her locks on her 16th birthday last week.
Jade’s big head shave was watched by parents Mandy and Gary at the Chestnuts Community Centre in Eastfield, before she donated her hair (and so far more than £1,400) to the Little Princess Trust which provides wigs to children with cancer to help them cope when they lose their hair.
Mandy said: “From the age of 14 she had been saying she wanted to shave her hair for the Little Princess Trust. Me being me I said ‘wait until you’re 16’. I thought she would grow out of the idea’. But a few months ago she said she wanted to do it and she’s even donated birthday money to the fund. She’s so selfless, words can’t express how proud I am.” To donate, visit: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jade-ball2.
