For the past 10 months, Queensgate has worked alongside Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research) to help raise funds and increase awareness of the work it is doing locally through several events and activities.

Emma Jane Jones, regional manager, said: “Working with Queensgate has been a fantastic opportunity to connect with both the community and retailers of Peterborough. We have been able to meet many new people touched by blood cancer and have been able to promote the research that is taking place locally in the East of England.

“We have had lots of fantastic events such as our Ceroc demonstration in October, the Summer Bear Hunt and Nancy’s Sunflower Competition. We are extremely grateful to all our amazing volunteers and the retailers and staff at Queensgate who have helped us reach an amazing sum of money and spread the word about our work.

“We have made great strides in beating blood cancer but we have lots more work to do. There are 137 blood cancers and we’re here to beat every single one.”

Mark Broadhead, centre director at Queensgate Shopping Centre, said: “This is a great opportunity for any charity to maximise on the exposure Queensgate Shopping Centre can offer with its thousands of visitors each week. Past charities have raised as much as £12,000.

“We are looking for a local charity that will work with us to come up with fun and engaging ways to interact with shoppers.
