Until Sunday, April 10, visitors can also stroll the normally closed South Gardens with seasonal displays of Narcissi and spring bulbs, injecting formality into ‘Capability’ Brown’s sweeping vistas beyond the garden.

Open from 11am to 4pm (last admission 3.30pm). Admission included with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket or by donation.

As another post-Easter treat, Burghley’s Fine Food Market – one of four held at the House every year – will see pop-up traditional market stalls spring up in the cobbled courtyard, next weekend.

The free admission Fine Food Market will be open 10am to 4pm on April 9 and 10.
