Firefighters had to smash a window to rescue a baby who had accidentally become locked in a car in Peterborough.

Fire and rescue crews were called to Almond Road at 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday).

They were able to smash a side window using specialist equipment to prevent the glass shattering into the car, and unlock the car from the inside. The crew returned to its station just after 11am.
