Peterborough remembered the sacrifices and contribution of the nation’s armed forces at a parade in the city.
The service to mark the start of Armed Forces Week took place at the War Memorial in Bridge Street yesterday (Monday), and saw civic dignitaries and veterans take part.
Shoppers and workers in the city centre gathered to pay their respects.
The parade was led by mayor of Peterborough cllr John Peach and deputy mayor cllr Nazim Khan.
Cllr Peach said: “Armed Forces Week is an opportunity to remember the sacrifice given by so many and celebrate the contribution our servicemen and women make to the fabric of our country. Peterborough enjoys a long and varied association with all the armed forces, meaning events such as the flag raising are always well attended.”
