Appointments cancelled but operations go ahead as junior doctors strike at Peterborough City Hospital
The strike is over a new contract for junior doctors which the government is looking to introduce.
The first day of industrial action was on Tuesday, January 12.

Hide AdDr Kanchan Rege, medical director at the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Thanks to some careful forward planning, we have been able to ensure no planned operations will be cancelled on the day of strike action by junior doctors.
“We are aiming to keep disruption to patients to a minimum.
“We have cancelled fewer clinics this time than the previous industrial action day in January. In total, 67 outpatient appointments, out of a usual Wednesday average of 1,700 appointments, have been cancelled.
“I would like to reassure patients that our emergency department is not affected by the strike action.”
