The A47 at Guyhirn will be closed at 11pm tonight (Thursday) after a lorry overturned.
The articulated truck crashed into the field at about 6am this morning.
The closure was meant to be introduced at 11am today, but plans were changed to avoid major disruption.
The crash left heavy traffic on the road, as one lane was blocked.
Two ambulances were called to the incident, but were stood down by police before arriving as no-one required medical attention.
The road was cleared in time for the morning rush hour, but there were still long delays.
The closure, which will include both carriageways, will be at the Guyhirn Roundabout to the Cromwell Road Roundabout at Wisbech. It is expected to be closed for two to three hours while the lorry is recovered..
