A47 blocked in both directions after serious crash involving lorry and van

The emergency services were called at just after 3pm to the crash at Thorney close to the junction with the B1167.

A lorry has collided with a Mercedes Sprinter van.

The East of England Ambulance Service said it was called at 3.09pm and had sent an ambulance crew to the A47, Wisbech Road, Thorney Toll.

A spokesman said paramedics were treating two patients, one of whom was a male with head injuries.

The other patient was said to have minor cuts and bruises but was conscious and breathing.
