On Monday (March 29), outdoor sport was given the green light to return along with the rule of six. This means that once again, two households or up to six people can meet up outside.
For some, this was the chance to catch up with loved ones or friends that they had not seen in close to a year and the perfect place chosen by many to do this was Ferry Meadows.
Yesterday (March 30). saw a large number of visitors to the park, with the same expected today as the easing of restrictions has coincided with a period of warm weather. Tuesday was the third warmest March day since Trevor Robbins-Pratt, a weather expert from Peterborough Weather Watch, began recording the data in 2006.
Nene Park Trust, who manage the park, say that they were pleased to report that they had seen no major issues with litter.
In order to help keep all visitors to Ferry Meadows safe, Nene Park Trust have asked people to respect the following guidelines:
-️ Walk in single file on narrow paths and bridges, giving way to others
-️ Keep dogs on the lead and under control to help with social distancing
-️ Cyclists to keep a 2m distance from pedestrians and maintain a reduced speed in the Park
-️ Use the hand sanitiser stations regularly
-️ Leave the Park as you would like to find it. Please dispose of your litter carefully making sure you use the correct bins at all times.
