NOSTALGIA: Peterborough's farming, fishing and boating past

The main picture is a wonderfully atmospheric photograph of harvest time. The location is Vicarage Farm Road in Fengate, date unknown.

The picture below it is of Peterscourt in the city centre.

The building, which was completed in 1859, is now used as offices for the Eco Innovation Centre but was previously home to Perkins Engines and Peterborough Development Corporation. Does anyone know when this picture was taken?

A few weeks back I featured a picture of the Great Northern Railway cottages in New England that were nicknamed the barracks. I came across another picture that shows two rows of the cottages - one remains today, but at one time there were five.

The photograph below is of a rowing regetta on the Nene in the days before the creation of the rowing lake at Thorpe Meadows.

The last picture shows a small boy at Holywell Ponds which were seven medieval fish ponds and were part of Thorpe Hall estate providing the lord and his family with a supply of fresh fish.
