Looking for something to with the family?
Our weekly round-up of family friendly events, startuing with the opening of Burghley House and gardens on Saturday.
The House and Gardens re-open and this year’s exhibitions, included in your House and Gardens ticket, will be ‘Capability Brown at Burghley’, exploring Brown’s influence on both the parkland and the House, and The Victorians at Burghley, which brings to life fascinating objects used and obtained by family during the Victorian period. Also on Saturday The Private South Gardens offer magnificent seasonal displays of Narcissi and spring bulbs and give an injection of formality into ‘Capability’ Brown’s sweeping vistas. Admission included with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket.
Spring has sprung so why not make the most of it and learn something about the city centre at the same time.
OnSaturday there is the Hidden Heritage guided tour, again starting at Peterborough Museum at 2pm. Book ahead or just turn up. More details on 01733 864663.
On Sunday, discover the fascinating, dramatic and often gory stories from one of the best known and most turbulent periods in our history – the time of the Tudors and the Stuarts. The Tudor& Stuart Peterborough walk starts from the Museum at 2pm. Book ahead or turn up.
And on Tuesday take a Ghost Tour and discover the city’s haunted history with a costumed guide. Tours start from Peterborough Museum at 7.30pm and 8pm. More details as ever on 01733 864663.
Werrington, Central and Hampton libraries, every Friday
