There's the chance to spring clean the mind and refresh the body at a home-grown Peterborough festival of uplifting arts and health activities '“ De-Stress Fest 2016 '“ which gets under way this weekend.

Saturday shopping will be less hectic on De-Stress Day. Pop into the De-Stress Café to enjoy tea, cake, a story, and some light arts & craft.

Sufi Zen

1st May – Central Park – 2pm – Free

An intimate dance experience that unites the stillness of Zen meditation with the whirling motion of Sufi Dervishes.

Stick around after the show for some performances and activities, plus a free Bollywood Dance Workshop at 3.30pm. All ages and abilities welcome.

Family Arts Workshops

2nd May – 10am – 12 noon: Paston Farm – 2pm – 4pm: Gladstone Park Community Centre – Free and Drop In

Drop in with the family and make your own Indian fighting kite, create a mandala and enjoy a storytelling session.

Laughter Yoga

Forced laughter through guided exercises soon turns into real and contagious chuckling. A fun and alternative way to reduce stress!

‘Inside Out’ Film Screening

Forget the weekend chores and instead enjoy a relaxing morning at the cinema. There is a showing of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, where a young girl’s emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.

Silent Disco

The Silent Disco phenomenon is coming to Radius for a Saturday night party. Headphone up, pick your channel, and rave on to the best tunes of the 90s and 00s.

Photo Walks led by Marc Atkinson

7th May – 11am, beginning at The Green Backyard – Free

Join artist Marc Atkinson as he leads you through the city’s outer edges on an insightful photography walk.

Holi May Day Celebration

7th May – The Green Backyard - 12pm – 4pm – Free

Eat some scrumptious food freshly cooked at the GBY, take part in kite flying games, and enjoy playing with Holi colours to celebrate your week of de-stressing.
