Bakery business borne out of Peterborough chef’s lockdown redundancy
Binky Bakes was launched last week by Wayne Burrows, from the kitchen of his Peterborough home.
After losing his job like many others during the pandemic, Wayne has used his time to create a box-fresh family venture.

It is Covid-safe and can ship its tasty treats nationwide.
“I’ve wanted to start a business doing home bakes for some time,” Wayne said. “I became a chef because of my grandad and I got more and more hungry for setting up Binky Bakes when I started baking tray bakes in my last role.
“With redundancy looming, my beautiful wife gave me the push I needed and I started this business.”
Binky Bakes is open for business via social media, with cake fans able to order via e-mail, Facebook or Instagram. Christmas hampers can be snapped up ahead of the big day.
