I got my first look at Peterborough’s new Brazilian bar and restaurant this week, Sabor Brasil on Broadway.
Not tried the food, yet, but it certainly looks the part - bright colours and a relaxed setting downstairs and a very smart looking first floor, with Latin music in the background everywhere.
Paulo Batista, who runs the place which opened a week or two before Christmas, tells me he has launched a new lunchtime menu this week - and in addition to the usual offerings of grilled meat and fish, plus a great tapas selection, he has introduced a “special of the day” for just £5.30 - or £6.50 with a drink.
And in the evenings, the rodizio on the first floor, where a waiter brings the meat to your table and carves it for you from the skewer, has a new menu too. There’s hot buffet and salad from £10.95 through to the full rodizio treatment with 10 meats to choose from plus hot buffet and salad for £21.
He has also introduced salsa lessons every Wednesday from 7.30pm, and for those who want to put it into practice, Friday and Saturday is Latin Party Night, from 8pm.
