Looking Back: ‘Ice cream treats and Wirrina memories’

Here are a couple of pictures of places that brought joy to thousands of Peterborians.

The first picture is of Stapleton’s ice cream shop in Bridge Street which was the must-go place for those with a sweet tooth.

Next is a picture of the now demolished Wirrina Stadium that played host to skating, wrestling shows, Northern Soul all nighters and punk rockers like The Clash.

There are also some images of the Wirrina being demolished.
