Do you recognise the faces in these old pictures found in a Peterborough loft?

A Peterborough woman who found old pictures from the 50s as she cleared out her loft during a house move is trying to reunite them with their original owners.

When packing items to move out, Katt Coutts (48) found the treasure trove of old photographs in her loft, and now she is hoping to track down their original owners or pass them on to relatives.

The black and white framed photographs which were wrapped in newspapers from the 1950s and were covered in dust when Katt found them.

There are around a dozen framed photos showing members of a family at a christening, on a rowing boat, on holiday and some singular portraits.

On the back of one of the frames a message reads: “11/2/50 With best wishes from Dorothy and Gerald.”

Katt, who now lives in Eye, found the treasures in a bungalow she rented in Hemingford Crescent, Stanground, where she lived for four years.

She said: “I found them in the loft when moving out, so I took the photos with me, so I could hopefully find a member of the family. I’ve had to wipe dust off to get to the photos.

“I’m hoping I can find any family to pass these on to.

“All I have to go on is a letter that was for the owner before the person who owns it now, a Mrs Milward.

“All the photos are stamped with a Peterborough area photographer too. It’s so important, it’s someone’s history.”

On some of the photos they are stamped ‘Lawrence, Huntingdon.’ If you recognise any of the people in the photos send an email to: [email protected]
