Looking Back at Peterborough's Bridge Street - with Woolworth, Macfisheries and Andy's Records

It has long been pedestrianised and is now home to market stalls, but there was a time when Bridge Street in Peterborough city centre was bustling with traffic and shoppers.

Today’s gallery goes from the early 20th century and the iron bridge crossing the Nene, through the 60s when Woolworths wasn’t attached to Macfisheries, and in to the 80s and 90s.

Check out some of the stores in view – not many remain.
