Every year the school, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), does something different to promote awareness of mental health challenges, and this year’s campaign focused on ‘Improving Mental Health for All’.

Ormiston Meadows Academy’s ‘Wellbeing Warriors’, a pair of pupils at the school dedicated to improving wellness, wanted to raise awareness and funds to support mental health charities. Pupils were invited to wear something yellow and purchase smile cookies.

Principal Kelly Moore said: “Due to the current situation with COVID-19, supporting people with their mental health is more important than ever. We have been working with our pupils since the start of the new term to support their wellbeing and nominated two members of our Year 6 class to be our ‘Wellbeing Warriors’, who came up with the fundraising ideas for this year. All funds raised from the event will be donated to mental health charities.”
