Fit4less will relocate from its base in Cowgate, with the Peterborough Telegraph understanding that it is set to move into the old Heart FM building in Queensgate Shopping Centre.

The gym briefly shut in July, leaving members of staff locked out on the street, after a dispute between the operator and the building’s landlords.

The dispute was over a service charge and continual noise nuisance to businesses below caused by weights being dropped.

At the time, it was said the charge had been paid and that acoustic flooring was to be put in, however, the noise over the weights has remained a problem.

A spokesperson at énergie Fitness said: “Fit4less by énergie on Cowgate will be relocating to a new location in Peterborough.

“The current club owners, Synergie Plus Ltd, have been unable to resolve acoustic issues relating to the use of free weights, to the satisfaction of the landlord.

“The énergie Fitness Central team has worked hard to find an alternative premise in the centre of Peterborough, and we are excited that we have now located a great site.

“The new site will open under the new énergie Fitness brand in 2018 offering exceptional value with a low membership cost and a focus on delivering world-class service.”

The PT was told by a member of the public, who wished to remain anonymous, that Fit4less would be relocating in February.
