The evening was backed by a number of local businesses who donated resources, prizes and their time to help ensure the night was a hitm and staff even managed to rope in celebrity guest Warwick Davis who compered the event.

Laura Stent, Amazon Children’s ward manager and organiser of the Amazon Ball, said: “We are overwhelmed by the support from the local community and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes and those who volunteered their time to help make the evening so successful.

“We know that hospital can be a scary experience, especially for our younger patients, so our focus for fundraising was to make the hospital environment friendlier. The money raised will help us purchase new equipment and decorative features to improve areas where children receive treatment across Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals.”
