Goldstar Diamond Cars have made the offer to help support elderly and vulnerable residents in the city, particularly ones who have to travel significant distances to receive their jabs.
The service includes picking up and dropping off at a client’s front door and the driver will wait outside while the vaccination is done.
Appointments have to be made for the free journeys and Goldstar will need 24 hours notice.
The firm, based in Fengate, has been very supportive of the local community during the pandemic and this offer comes after it has already announced a lifelong 25 per cent discount to NHS workers, 20 percent to care workers and a £1 discount for key workers on journeys to and from work, as well as a refusal to raise prices over the festive period.
Manager Faz Ali said: “Goldstar Diamond Cars are proud to be a part of a community where actions speak louder than words.
“We are doing this as a goodwill gesture, for a lot of us during these lockdowns, we have at least been able to go out and do our daily exercise but for so many elderly people they are just stuck at home and have been suffering.
“It’s not always about making money, we want to help this community that has helped us for the last 16 years and back when we only had one or two cars.
“We want to do something to help those who need it most and we think this is the best way.
“We will help those that need the vaccination most to get it as soon as possible.”
